Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.
Applications at the moment are open and can close on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should satisfy the subsequent criteria:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house by using a combined gross domestic earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.
• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined residence income won't exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and wish not submit any evidence of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.
Applicants are reminded to supply the right Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored within their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals who are studying or intend to study at a public here university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should nsfas application apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric my nsfas results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
